I was browsing through Youtube as usual and this time I was searching for Kannada bhavageete. Suddenly I got a video of Kolike Ranga. A professional, enjoyable, truly humoristic parody of the English song 'Constantinople' in Kannada .. 'Nanu Kolike Ranga' written by the legendary Kannada dramatist TP Kailasam.

The lyrics are amazingly, uniquely humorous and sometimes tongue twisting and rhyming and feels good to listen, listen to them carefully else you will miss out something very funny and good to listen. C.R.simha and Ashwath.C have sung it... wonderful piece of a genuine genius.

TP Kailasam the Kannada Playwright who gave humor a totally new dimension by giving it a professional quality touch in Kannada Literature(theatre) through his many plays which depict very professional, sensible comedy. By inducing quality into comedy that revolved around everyday social issues he uplifted the position of comedy in Kannada literature.

He was rightly called 'Kannada Prahasana Pitamaha' meaning 'the grand old man of humorous Kannada plays' and there is also a popular saying 'Kannadakobbane Kailasam! Hasyakobbane Beechi'(There is only one Kailasam for Kannada! and only one Beechi for humor'.. Beechi was another famed humor writer in Kannada).

This famous line from chartbuster song from yet to be released DEV D is lingering in my mind from when I heard it. Especially the last two words "EMOSANAL ATYACHAR". First of all intended misspelling, and pronouncing the "EMOTIONAL" word as "EMOSANAL" makes it very Indian !!. And thats the very factor which is pushing me to think alot about this "EMOSANAL ATYACHAR" in our Indian life.

According to me we Indians are "EMOSANAL" by default, rather being rational.(Thats including me. I call myself 'SIMPLE MAN WITH COMPLEX EMOSANS' ).....So I think this Emosanal atyachar funda is the fitting acronym of all thats happening with people here. Politicians rape their voters minds withso many tactics. A famous leader dies and in very next election his wife contests and wins like anything , even though she has no idea what political science(politics) is. She never came out of home before. Even then she wins. People get carried away in the EMOSAN of leaaders death. We are doing Atyachar on India by virtue of our EMOSANS, by selecting non-eligible leaders!!!(???). Girlfriend rapes boy's mind in such a way that, to him 'Everything' looks small infront of her 'Beautiful Eyes'!!!. Boyfriends 'play' with their girls and later use girls EMOSANS to expell them elling that they cannot spoil(?) their parents EMOSANS. Mullas rape poor guy's mind and make him terrorist. Conversionists stripe poor minds with greed of money.

Nobody is pure, Nobody is devine. We all lost virginity of our minds in EMOSANAL ATYACHAR. I don't see any way to stop it. But atleast wear a Condom of rationality on our EMOSANS. Lets be safe and strong in our minds.

Let 'EMOSANAL ATYACHAR' only be a song!!!. Not the definition of how INDIANS(humans) lead life.

LETTER TO PRIMEMINISTER

I received the following mail and I felt this is what I wanted to tell… Go through and tell me what you feel.!!!

Dear Mr. Prime minister,

I am a typical mouse from Mumbai. In the local train compartment which has capacity of 100 persons, I travel with 500 more mouse. Mouse at least squeak but we don't even do that.

Today I heard your speech. In which you said 'NO BODY WOULD BE SPARED'. I would like to remind you that fourteen years has passed since serial bomb blast in Mumbai took place. Dawood was the main conspirator. Till today he is not caught. All our bolywood actors, our builders, our Gutka king meets him but your Government can not catch him. Reason is simple; all your ministers are hand in glove with him. If any attempt is made to catch him everybody will be exposed. Your statement 'NOBODY WOULD BE SPARED' is nothing but a cruel joke on this unfortunate people of India.

Enough is enough. As such after seeing terrorist attack carried out by about a dozen young boys I realize that if same thing continues days are not away when terrorist will attack by air, destroy our nuclear reactor and there will be one more Hiroshima.

We the people are left with only one mantra. Womb to Bomb to Tomb. You promised Mumbaikar Shanghai what you have given us is Jalianwala Baug.

Today only your home minister resigned. What took you so long to kick out this joker? Only reason was that he was loyal to Gandhi family. Loyalty to Gandhi family is more important than blood of innocent people, isn't it?

I am born and bought up in Mumbai for last fifty eight years. Believe me corruption in Maharashtra is worse than that in Bihar. Look at all the politician, Sharad Pawar, Chagan Bhujbal, Narayan Rane, Bal Thackray , Gopinath Munde, Raj Thackray, Vilasrao Deshmukh all are rolling in money. Vilasrao Deshmukh is one of the worst Chief minister I have seen. His only business is to increase the FSI every other day, make money and send it to Delhi so Congress can fight next election. Now the clown has found new way and will increase FSI for fisherman so they can build concrete house right on sea shore. Next time terrorist can comfortably live in those house , enjoy the beauty of sea and then attack the Mumbai at their will.

Recently I had to purchase house in Mumbai. I met about two dozen builders. Everybody wanted about 30% in black. A common person like me knows this and with all your intelligent agency & CBI you and your finance minister are not aware of it. Where all the black money goes? To the underworld isn't it? Our politicians take help of these goondas to vacate people by force. I myself was victim of it. If you have time please come to me, I will tell you everything.

If this has been land of fools, idiots then I would not have ever cared to write you this letter. Just see the tragedy, on one side we are reaching moon, people are so intelligent and on other side you politician has converted nectar into deadly poison. I am everything Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Schedule caste, OBC, Muslim OBC, Christian Schedule caste, Creamy Schedule caste only what I am not is INDIAN. You politician have raped every part of mother India by your policy of divide and rule.

Take example of former president Abdul Kalam. Such a intelligent person, such a fine human being. You politician didn't even spare him. Your party along with opposition joined the hands, because politician feels they are supreme and there is no place for good person.

Dear Mr Prime minister you are one of the most intelligent person, most learned person. Just wake up, be a real SARDAR. First and foremost expose all selfish politician. Ask Swiss bank to give name of all Indian account holder. Give reins of CBI to independent agency. Let them find wolf among us. There will be political upheaval but that will better than dance of death which we are witnessing every day. Just give us ambient where we can work honestly and without fear. Let there be rule of law. Everything else will be taken care of.

Choice is yours Mr. Prime Minister. Do you want to be lead by one person or you want to lead the nation of 100 Crore people?

Any Indian who saw or has heard of Mumbai massacre will be surely thinking the same as me.

We need some fanatics as our leaders. i.e. some people with excessive intolerance of opposing view. And their vision must be growth of nation also. Modi, Bush all are of that kind....they may not be so called secular, rational minded and all....but for the time being we need somebody as strong and arrogant as them ,so that we flush out the terror.

Innocent people may suffer little bit in the process, but we need to compromise. Because if these terrorists are left to do whatever with what seems to be present Government's appeasement policy, lakhs of innocent will die and India will be screwed.

The Big Bubble

It's for all those who are confused how the stocks control economy of the state….

Once there was a little island country. The land of this country was the tiny island itself. The total money in circulation was 2 dollars as there were only two pieces of 1 dollar coins circulating around.

1) There were 3 citizens living on this island country. A owned the land. B and C each owned 1 dollar.

2) B decided to purchase the land from A for 1 dollar. So, now A and C own 1 dollar each while B owned a piece of land that is worth 1 dollar.

* The net asset of the country now = 3 dollars.

3) Now C thought that since there is only one piece of land in the country, and land is non producible asset, its value must definitely go up. So, he borrowed 1 dollar from A, and together with his own 1 dollar, he bought the land from B for 2 dollars.

*A has a loan to C of 1 dollar, so his net asset is 1 dollar.
* B sold his land and got 2 dollars, so his net asset is 2 dollars.
* C owned the piece of land worth 2 dollars but with his 1 dollar debt to A, his net residual asset is 1 dollar.
* Thus, the net asset of the country = 4 dollars.

4) A saw that the land he once owned has risen in value. He regretted having sold it. Luckily, he has a 1 dollar loan to C. He then borrowed 2 dollars from B and acquired the land back from C for 3 dollars. The payment is by 2 dollars cash (which he borrowed) and cancellation of the 1 dollar loan to C. As a result, A now owned a piece of land that is worth 3 dollars. But since he owed B 2 dollars, his net asset is 1 dollar.

* B loaned 2 dollars to A. So his net asset is 2 dollars.
* C now has the 2 coins. His net asset is also 2 dollars.
* The net asset of the country = 5 dollars. A bubble is building up.

(5) B saw that the value of land kept rising. He also wanted to own the land. So he bought the land from A for 4 dollars. The payment is by borrowing 2 dollars from C, and cancellation of his 2 dollars loan to A.

* As a result, A has got his debt cleared and he got the 2 coins. His net asset is 2 dollars.
* B owned a piece of land that is worth 4 dollars, but since he has a debt of 2 dollars with C, his net Asset is 2 dollars.
* C loaned 2 dollars to B, so his net asset is 2 dollars.

* The net asset of the country = 6 dollars; even though, the country has only one piece of land and 2 Dollars in circulation.

(6) Everybody has made money and everybody felt happy and prosperous.

(7) One day an evil wind blew, and an evil thought came to C's mind. "Hey, what if the land price stop going up, how could B repay my loan. There is only 2 dollars in circulation, and, I think after all the land that B owns is worth at most only 1 dollar, and no more."

(8) A also thought the same way.

(9) Nobody wanted to buy land anymore.

* So, in the end, A owns the 2 dollar coins, his net asset is 2 dollars.
* B owed C 2 dollars and the land he owned which he thought worth 4 dollars is now 1 dollar. So his net asset is only 1 dollar.
* C has a loan of 2 dollars to B. But it is a bad debt. Although his net asset is still 2 dollars, his Heart is palpitating.
* The net asset of the country = 3 dollars again.

(10) So, who has stolen the 3 dollars from the country ? Of course, before the bubble burst B thought his land was worth 4 dollars. Actually, right before the collapse, the net asset of the country was 6 dollars on paper. B's net asset is still 2 dollars, his heart is palpitating.

(11) B had no choice but to declare bankruptcy. C as to relinquish his 2 dollars bad debt to B, but in return he acquired the land which is worth 1 dollar now.

* A owns the 2 coins, his net asset is 2 dollars.
* B is bankrupt, his net asset is 0 dollar. ( he lost everything )
* C got no choice but end up with a land worth only 1 dollar

* The net asset of the country = 3 dollars.

**************End of the story; BUT ***************************

There is however a redistribution of wealth.
A is the winner, B is the loser, C is lucky that he is spared.
A few points worth noting -

(1) When a bubble is building up, the debt of individuals to one another in a country is also building up.
(2) This story of the island is a closed system whereby there is no other country and hence no foreign debt. The worth of the asset can only be calculated using the island's own currency. Hence, there is no net loss.

(3) An over-damped system is assumed when the bubble burst, meaning the land's value did not go down to below 1 dollar.

(4) When the bubble burst, the fellow with cash is the winner. The fellows having the land or extending loan to others are the losers. The asset could shrink or in worst case, they go bankrupt.

(5) If there is another citizen D either holding a dollar or another piece of land but refrains from taking part in the game, he will neither win nor lose. But he will see the value of his money or land go up and down like a see saw.

(6) When the bubble was in the growing phase, everybody made money.

(7) If you are smart and know that you are living in a growing bubble, it is worthwhile to borrow money (like A ) and take part in the game. But you must know when you should change everything back to cash.

(8) As in the case of land, the above phenomenon applies to stocks as well.

(9) The actual worth of land or stocks depend largely on psychology.

WHEN RAJAVARDHAN HEARS ….”EXAMS”…. HIS BRAIN JAMS…..

People, I boasted so much about MIT. But in my case, it seems these exams never stop haunting me…..Second sessionals are due in a day and I'm wondering, my BE exams were easier. Here in MIT there is so much fuss about exams and marks you score that, I was never in this much pressure even when I wrote five exams continuously. It was never such a big overhead even when I knew that I'll not get more than 35 in the semester exams.

There is so much to study for a god damn' internal test !. In each subject there are much more topics than what we had in whole semester while doing BE. In this matter Mtech sucks. "Every instructor assumes that you have nothing else to do except study for that instructor's course."It seems, The more studying you did for the exam, the less sure you are as to which answer they want. Adding to the pressure.. I scored rather low than my expectations in first internals. Thanks to the exam pattern where we have to write for twenty marks 'without choice'. And also there will be so much to write. A question which cannot be answered without writing at least 100 lines and drawing a diagram,(above that, they tell us to draw it neatly!!) Carries not more than 3-4 marks.

Now don't tell me, 'Why Study For Exams.... Are they not about what you know, not about how much you can cram into your head the night before?'. I know all of you hate exams. But I've to fill up the dig I made in BE…Wish me all the best dudes and dames. I need'em

MANIPAL aka MONEY-PAL

They say "Greatness inspires envy", Beware my friends, not only greatness of somebody but reading this post may induce envy about me in your mind

Hi friends, Nowadays I'm in a rocky but rocking hinterland of the Coast of south west India called as Manipal (aka Money-Pal),doing my Mtech. Area is a two and half mile radius hill: full of buildings which strike your eyes. Beside the pathetic roads, Buildings are heavy and posh !! .Most of the constructions belong to MAHE University or Pai Family. 5km far from UDUPI, but it's a different world over here on this hill of Manipal.

Manipal is not lesser than any Metropolis in any matter I suppose. Cost of living pretty high. I give rent of Rs 2000 for a room which is not even half in size of the room I used to stay in Sullia. There are 7 pubs around within two and half mile radius on this hill with entry fees varying from 100 to 600.(Most important reason to get envied).All of'em get heaten up weekends to their limits.

Manipal is full of babes all around. I'm getting saturated. I doubt all good looking girls from North are fortuned to study(?) in Manipal !!.

It has everything. Picturesque landscapes, very good food(U'll get any kind u want, Pizza to parotha to pani poori to payasam), At range of rates. Bhutta 'gaadi's' at every corner.

Beside all these, Teaching and other facilities in college are very good. I'm enjoying Manipal.Looking forward for more……

You can delete files immediately, without having them move to the Recycle Bin first. Go to the Start menu, select Run... and type 'gpedit.msc'; then select User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Windows Explorer and find the Do not move deleted files to the Recycle Bin setting. Set it. Poking around in gpedit will reveal a great many interface and system options, but take care -- some may stop your computer behaving as you wish. (Professional Edition only)

You can lock your XP workstation with two clicks of the mouse. Create a new shortcut on your desktop using a right mouse click, and enter 'rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation’ in the location field. Give the shortcut a name you like. That's it -- just double click on it and your computer will be locked.

 XP hides some system software you might want to remove, such as Windows Messenger, but you can tickle it and make it disgorge everything. Using Notepad or Edit, edit the text file /windows/inf/sysoc.inf, search for the word 'hide' and remove it. You can then go to the Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, select Add/Remove Windows Components and there will be your prey, exposed and vulnerable.

For those skilled in the art of DOS batch files, XP has a number of interesting new commands. These include 'eventcreate' and 'eventtriggers' for creating and watching system events, 'typeperf' for monitoring performance of various subsystems, and 'schtasks' for handling scheduled tasks. As usual, typing the command name followed by /? Will give a list of options -- they're all far too baroque to go into here.

You can at last get rid of tasks on the computer from the command line by using 'taskkill /pid' and the task number, or just 'tskill' and the process number. Find that out by typing 'tasklist', which will also tell you a lot about what's going on in your system.

 XP will treat Zip files like folders, which is nice if you've got a fast machine. On slower machines, you can make XP leave zip files well alone by typing 'regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll' at the command line. You can use Remote Assistance to help a friend who's using network address translation (NAT) on a home network, but not automatically. Get your pal to email you a Remote Assistance invitation and edit the file. Under the RCTICKET attribute will be a NAT IP address, like 192.168.1.10. Replace this with your chum's real IP address – they can find this out by going to www.whatismyip.com -- and get them to make sure that they've got port 3389 open on their firewall and forwarded to the errant computer.

You can run a program as a different user without logging out and back in again. Right click the icon, select Run As... and enter the user name and password you want to use. This only applies for that run. The trick is particularly useful if you need to have administrative permissions to install a program, which many require. After a while, the nagging goes away, but if you feel you might slip the bonds of sanity before that point, run Regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/Advanced and create a DWORD value called EnableBalloonTips with a value of 0.

You can start up without needing to enter a user name or password. Select Run from the start menu and type 'control userpasswords2', which will open the user accounts application. On the Users tab, clear the box for Users Must Enter a User Name and Password to Use This Computer, and click on OK. You can rename loads of files at once in Windows Explorer. Highlight a set of files in a window, then right click on one and rename it. All the other files will be renamed to that name, with individual numbers in brackets to distinguish them. Also, in a folder you can arrange icons in alphabetised groups by View, Arrange Icon By... Show In Groups.

 Windows Media Player will display the cover art for albums as it plays the tracks – if it found the picture on the Internet when you copied the tracks from the CD. If it didn't, or if you have lots of pre-WMP music files, you can put your own copy of the cover art in the same directory as the tracks. Just call it folder.jpg and Windows Media Player will pick it up and display it.

Computers can blur your vision...

Computers, like telephones have become indispensable pieces of office equipment. Using computers is such a visually demanding task; vision problems have become very common at work places today.

Sixty million people suffer eye problems due to working on computers, and the number is rising by a million every year.

All those hours we spend at the computer, straining our eyes, causes a condition known as computer vision syndrome (CVS). CVS is characterized by eye strain associated with p[prolonged use of computers, with symptoms which include eye fatigue, dryness of the eyes etc. A number of investigations have indicated that these symptoms occur in 75-90% of computer users.

Computer images are created from thousands of tiny dots – so there is no distinct image for your eye to actually focus on. You have to focus and refocus to keep the images sharp and after two hours you end up with the same kind of repetitive stress on your eye muscles as that caused by the keyboard on your wrists.

The American Optometric Association defines CVS is the eye and vision problems related to work which are experienced during or after computer use. The symptoms can vary but mostly include eye strain, headaches, occasional blurred vision (distance and/or near), dry and irritated eyes, slow refocusing, neck and/or backache, light sensitivity and double vision.

Lots of people don’t even know they have CVS. People suffering from CVS usually blink two-thirds less than normal.

The good news is that the eye and vision problems related to CVS can be alleviated by following good eye-care tips and/or by changes in the work environment.

CVS is a by-product of excessive viewing of screens without regard to practical visual hygiene. By just using some common sense and education about the visual system, the symptoms of CVS can be diminished or eliminated.

Tips to prevent CVS:

1. Blink frequently to lubricate the eyes & prevent dryness – more critical for contact lens wearers. A conscious effort should be made to blink frequently.

2. Take 2-4 minute breaks ever half hour – don’t strain your eyes looking at your computer.

3. Use anti-glare spectacles preferably with grey tinted lenses, which are a neutral absorber and can filter unwanted effects of certain colors.

4. Position the monitor 20-26 inches away from the eyes

5. Keep the computer screen at your eye level or 5 degrees below the eye level.

6. Keep the monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse and other peripherals in easy-to-reach places so as not to strain any other body parts.

7. Black characters on a white background are usually best. Avoid dark back grounds and the size of the text should be three times the size of the smallest text you can read.

8. Arrange light source to minimize glare and reflections on the screen.

9. Reduce the amount of lighting in the room to match the computer screen.

10. The use of contact lens re-wetting drops is recommended periodically during the day while using the computer screen.

11. Use anti-glare computer screen.

12. Keep your computer screen free of dust.

Conclusion:

Vision, being an important thing in life, needs to be taken care of. Computer Vision Syndrome affects not only your vision but also the productivity of your work. Make sure your visit the optometrist regularly to get your eyes tested for Computer Vision Syndrome. He or she may prescribe special glasses and/or an anti-glare screen filter or make other ergonomic recommendations.

Greenary of western ghats, mesmerising blue waters and beaches of Arabian sea, sizzling Paddy fields,arecanut plantations, Calm and cool People with lots of hospitality and great attitude. Thats Amgel Kumta, Nangal Kumta, Namma Kumta. Everybody loves their hometown. But i have some fabulous reasons. Kumta is a really a rocking small town with managable coastal wether.

Kumta is located at 14.42° N 74.4° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 3 metres (9 feet).

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Kumta had a population of 27,597. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Kumta has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 73%. In Kumta, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.

The town of Kumta (also Coompta), is a sea-coast town in the Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka, India. Kumta is about 40 miles (60 km) south of the city of Karwar.The name was initially "KUMBHAPURA". As it was a toungue twister to the British people they changed it to Coompta,then on to Kumta.

During the British Raj, it was a part of the North Kanara district of Bombay Presidency. It had an open roadstead, with a considerable trade, especially in cotton. During the American Civil War the cotton from the southern states that fed mills in England stopped supplying and the mills started importing a variety of cotton known as 'Kumta Hatti'through Kumta port. This resulted in development of Kumta port.Also Carving in sandalwood was a speciality.Even now this sandelwood fact holds. The commercial importance of Kumta had declined after the opening of the Southern Maharashrta railway system.
There are many tourist places nearby Kumta. Just to the north of town, the Aghanashini river joins the Arabian Sea on her way rendering stunning scenery.
A nearby spot called Yana(20 km) is also beautiful with its massive black rock formations and nature trails and also Yana is famous for it's Shiva temple. Yana became famous after the stunning rock beauty was picturised in a hit kannada film named "Nammoora Mandara Hoove".
The town of Gokarn, near Kumta is a place of pilgrimage for Hindus and is known as the Kashi of the South.Gokarna is also famous for its beaches(Om beach,Paradise beach). It is just 20 km from Kumta.
Jog Falls, tallest waterfall of India, is 70 km.
Other spots worth mentioning are: Murdeshwara (60 km),Apsarakonda(30 km),Idagunji (25km). And many many water falls within hours of journey.(Magod,Unchalli,satoddi .....list goes on as the number of falls in Uttra Kannada crosses 100!!) Also lots of Beautiful Beaches are there nearby. Kumta beach itself is really mesmerising one.Others are Dhareshwar,Karki,Ramanagindi...etc)

Kumta is known for its betelnut(arecanut), coconut and banana cultivation. Kumta has also been a pionner learning center in the Uttar Kannada District with presence of Kanara College SOciety's Dr A.V Baliga College groups and Gibb High School. These institutes are among the earliest in their kinda education in coastal Karnataka. Gibb High School is 99 years old and A.V.baliga college is almost 60 years old.

Kumta Town is more famous for the temples in it.There are a lot of old temples in Kumta. Sri Kumbheshwar, Uppina Ganapati, Shantika Parameshwari, Mahalasa Narayani, Shanteri Kamakshi, Kavur Kamakshi, and Shankar Narayan temples are some of them. Many of these feature period architectures and period art forms, especially the Kavi Art.

Kannada(also Havyaka kannada) and Konkani are spoken languages in Kumta.The town of Kumta features diverse population including brahmins(Havyaka and Gouda Saraswata), craftsmen, fishermen, Christians, and Muslims.
The NH-17 passes through heart of Kumta. Also the Konkana Railway passes through Kumta town. The Railway Station is situated very near to Highway and The Bus Stand.
